I am former correspondent and editor in Asia with the Thomson Reuters Foundation, and a former Asia Editor for IRIN, an independent news service that covers humanitarian issues. Previously, I worked as a correspondent with Reuters in Myanmar, and before that I was the South Sudan correspondent for Bloomberg News. I also freelance print, radio, video and photos. Clients have included The National, CBC, Global Post, Radio Deutsche Welle, CNN online, The Christian Science Monitor, Radio Australia, Radio Netherlands Worldwide, France 24.

I was a city reporter in Vancouver, Canada, before moving to Afghanistan in 2007. From there I migrated to West Africa, Southeast Asia and then to East Africa. I’ve reported from countries including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, The Philippines, Thailand, Laos, Nepal, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, and Kenya.
